G-Dubs on Broadway

I was lucky enough to attend Will Ferrell’s show on Broadway last night and all I can say is…

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I had tears of laughter streaming down my face numerous times. What made the event even cooler was seeing Nate Robinson in the crowd and wow he is short… Like, really short. He was with a bunch of other Knicks that I couldn’t recognize. After all, I haven’t actively enjoyed watching a Knicks game for years so I had no idea who they were.

The one man show was like an in-character standup and I really hope more actors/comedians follow in Ferrell’s footsteps. I would pay a lot to see Tina Fey do her Palin impression, live.

Some thing that I have thought about at length is how this show could play online. It is public knowledge that Will Ferrel has a significant investment in Funny or Die and something like this, streamed live on the site would garner a HUGE amount of traffic and get a whole new audience to his site. Additionally, I am sure he would be able to sell access to the live stream if he was that interested in money. Not sure anything like this will happen, but would have been interesting to see what sort of publicity Funny or Die would have gotten.
